Note
This name of this place comes from a mangled version of the french word Ecores meaning the steep edge of a dream or body of water in french. The word was popular in the 1600-1700's. "Occasional mention is made of a native fishery at the "Ecores", possibly referring to Point Isacor (M.P.J. Sept. 2, 1839)."
